Mayra Liliana Sernas Mendez MS, AMFT received her Masters of Science in Counseling degree from California State University, Northridge. For her graduate internship, Mayra worked at a Trauma Recovery Center where she provided assertive outreach, clinical case management, individual therapy, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults trauma survivors. Mayra has received training in trauma-focused modalities including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, and is in the process of completing a training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She has also received training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Seeking Safety. Mayra has worked at PCH Treatment center for about 5 years as Client Assistant, Weekend Operations Manager, and most recently Assistant Program Director. She has also worked as an Exposure and Response Prevention Coach and has managed the monthly Family Program. Currently, Mayra conducts intake assessments, co-facilitates a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy group, conducts individual therapy, and provides case management assistance to Program Directors.
